Employee Spotlight: Steven Tate, Mechanical Engineer Posted on October 25, 2021 by Kelly Blake While Steven enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and hiking, he also loves traveling with his family. His favorite trip took him and his wife to Spain, Portugal and Morocco, where they experienced amazing cultures, enjoyed different cuisines and took in beautiful sites. If Steven could try his hand at another career, it would be a chef. He is drawn to the challenge of being creative, running a crew and receiving honest feedback. However, Steven’s greatest accomplishment is graduating from his Mechanical Engineer program.
PEDCO Is Growing Their Team Posted on September 23, 2021November 9, 2021 by Kelly Blake PEDCO Eng Services, Inc. continues to grow their team with the recent addition of Steven Tate, as Senior Plumbing Engineer, and Chris Studebaker, Electrical Designer. Steven joins PEDCO after spending 10 years as a Project Manager and Engineering Consultant with Fosdick & Hilmer and KFI Engineers. As Senior Plumbing Engineer, Steven is responsible for the appropriate engineering/design and production of drawings, specifications, and reports required by a project, as well as quality control. Chris joins PEDCO after 7 years with Denier Electric, where he was an Apprentice Electrician on commercial construction sites, transitioning to their BIM Department where he created 3D modeling of electrical systems. Chris completed his apprenticeship program through IEC, graduating top of his class. In his role as Electrical Designer, Chris will work with Lead Engineers and Designers to develop biddable construction packages for our customers. Employee Spotlight: Chrissy Kern, Receptionist Posted on September 9, 2021 by Kelly Blake Chrissy Kern, our receptionist, enjoys a good craft. Chrissy enjoys creating things with her Cricut, making anything from shirts, cups, and birthday cards for friends and family. She can even etch designs on glass. In her free time, Chrissy enjoys hanging with her dogs, watching scary movies – though she doesn’t scare easily – and attending concerts. Her favorite concerts have been Poison and Rob Zombie.

In his free time, Shane researches, teaches and practices Martial Arts. In 2007, Shane achieved his greatest accomplishment by becoming a certified instructor under Bruce Lee’s protégé, Guro Dan Inosanto. He also earned his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt in 2013. When not immersed in Martial Arts, Shane also enjoys playing and watching baseball with his son.

In his free time, Nathan enjoys kayaking and his favorite vacation was an adventurous trip to the New River Gorge in West Virginia. He spent his time hiking, whitewater rafting and rock climbing. Nathan’s proudest accomplishment is his time spent touring with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps in the Drum Corps International circuit.

When not hard at work, Megan has creative hobbies of crocheting and Cricut-ing, and enjoys reading in her spare time. Her greatest accomplishment is rescuing her dogs, whom she loves to take on walks, exploring different parks. Exploring is her nature, as Megan’s dream vacation was a month-long tour across Europe to visit architectural histroical sites, including the Colossuem and the Pantheon.

While she enjoys a round of golf with her husband, Cathy finds her passion cooking, entertaining and celebrating anything! She remains in contact with grade school friends and gets together with them often, but most enjoys spending time with her grandchildren! Cathy is proud of her three children she has raised and the parents they have become themselves. Her favorite vacation was visiting New York City during the holidays – spending a week shopping, seeing plays and attending St. Patrick’s Cathedral’s Christmas Eve midnight mass.

Chris Smith and Adam Wintz each add new energy to their respective teams. Project Manager, Chris Smith serves as a liaison between the client and technical staff and is responsible for the planning and successful completion of client projects. Team focused and with 30-years of experience, Chris excels in managing multiple projects concurrently with a proven record of completing projects on time and under budget. Adam Wintz, Mechanical Engineer and a recent graduate of Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, also earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from Ohio State University. Adam’s experience includes designing HVAC and plumbing systems for healthcare, education and retail facilities. PEDCO COO and President, Joe Hoffman, is excited for the expertise and energy Christopher and Adam bring, “PEDCO and our clients are going to greatly benefit with what each of these professionals bring to their team.” Welcome Chris and Adam!

Since joining PEDCO seven years ago, Bob has fostered a long-standing relationship with Procter & Gamble, partnering with them for their facility engineering needs. A true professional focused on project planning, cost control, quality and safety management, Bob has been a mentor and resource for PEDCO’s younger engineers. “Bob has proven to be an asset to PEDCO and our clients. His expertise will be missed.”, shared Joe Hoffman, President & COO. While Bob is retiring from a full-time role, he is not ready to leave his PEDCO family. Bob has agreed to stay involved with PEDCO in a limited role moving forward. Happy Retirement Bob!
