Building the Core

PEDCO Eng Services, Inc. was left without a rudder when The PEDCO Group disbanded in 1985. But with every change comes opportunity. We had to forge our identity, find our own way and we learned how to survive. GE Aviation was our first client outside of The PEDCO Group in 1981—one we focused on and never let go.  With core fundamentals and a prolific partnership in place, we had the tools and confidence to market our capabilities and cast an eye to a towering presence in the region.


PEDCO Eng Services, Inc. becomes independent of The PEDCO Group, Ken Hover becomes President, and William Giesler, future CEO, joins PEAS.


The close of the 80s saw much progress —
but drafting still meant putting lead to paper.


Decade of Diversification

Our diversification strategy landed an opportunity with Procter & Gamble right at the turn of the decade, which catalyzed a joint venture called Baxter-PEAS. Building on this momentum, we started working with Toyota in 1991 and Fidelity Investments in 1995, and started expanding within GE Aviation. We invested heavily in our infrastructure, making tremendous upgrades to the hardware, software, and training that supported our team. We officially became an interstate operation, opening our PEDCO office in Ft. Wayne as the 90s drew to a close.

Launch of joint venture, Baxter-PEAS, to serve broad spectrum of Procter & Gamble’s engineering and architecture needs.



Secure contract with Toyota Motor Manufacturing to provide design services on the 1992 Camry Model Changeover project.

Selected by Fidelity Investments to provide engineering services at their Covington campus.



CADD (Computer Aided Design & Drafting) changed the game in the early 90s.


Making Our Mark

The new millennium marked an inward focus. We sharpened our focus and articulated the evolution of our value proposition to bring about a new identity – literally and figuratively. We invested in a branding and marketing strategy that gave us still more control over our own destiny. It centered around The PEDCO Way – distilling our principles, our process, and our promise to our customers. It set a natural stage for our silver anniversary, as we celebrated our 25th Anniversary in 2006.

Navigating Change

With increasing revenues and size of the company, PEDCO reshaped our organizational structure to better serve our clients and position ourselves for more growth ahead. During this time, PEDCO also successfully transitioned to a new ownership group with a drive to live up to our mission of “Partnering with people to take them beyond what they can achieve alone.” Further change was seen in the technology used to serve our clients, like 3D modeling and 3D scanning, as well as new products and technology used to construct buildings.

Forward Motion

The continued retirement of baby boomers has left a gap in knowledge in the AEC industry. Coupled with the shortage of new engineers and designers to backfill those positions, PEDCO continues to invest in training and mentoring all employees to develop the next generation of leaders in the company. As technology continues to evolve, this will create exciting opportunities for these leaders to leverage technology such as Internet of People (IoP), Photometry and Image Measurement Technology, Applications and Software, XR (Extended Reality inclusive of Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality), and innovations only now imagined tackling today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

In celebration of PEDCO’s 40th Anniversary, we revitalized our dated identity and aging website with an extensive rebranding effort. We also renewed our sense of purpose and commitment at all levels of our company to reflect our new business goals, strategies and values. Our repositioned brand will continue to set ourselves apart from our competitors and attract a new generation of talent that will secure our success for another 40 years and beyond.
